1. What is paintball?

Paintball is a sport in which players eliminate opponents from play by hitting them with paint filled, breakable, gelatin paintballs usually shot from a carbon dioxide or compressed air powered "paintball marker".*

 

2. Is it dangerous to play paintball?

On a supervised playing field with the right equipment and trained referees, paintball is safer then fishing.

 

3. Does paintball hurt?

Like any other sport - such as cricket, hockey or motorbike riding - paintball can hurt. At paintballgames.com.au, we ensure all of our markers are set to a safe velocity - between 240 and 270 feet per second - before each event and offer padding for the ladies and anyone else who wants it. The guys are encouraged to wear groin guards/boxes for their own piece of mind.

 

4. Do we all have to buy the same paintball package?

No, you do not have to have the same package as everyone else in your group. While we recommend about 500 rounds per half day, how much you want to shoot is entirely up to you. Some people can use as little as 300 rounds for a whole day, while others can use 2000 (or more!) for half a day.

 

5. Can someone under 18 play paintball?

(with written parental consent).

No. There is no provision under Victorian law to allow anyone under 18 to play paintball.

 

6. Do I have to have a shooters licence?

No, a shooters licence is NOT required to play.

 

7. What should I wear? What shoes should I bring?

Something comfortable and loose – nothing fancy. Our overalls cover from the wrists to the ankles and yes, the paint does wash out. Do not wear thongs or other open toed shoes. Avoid white sneakers or shoes. Boots that support the ankle are advised.

 

8. Can I wear glasses? Should I wear contact lenses?

Yes, you can wear glasses. Contact lenses are a good option, if possible.
